Barn quilt joy started in Ohio and has spread throughout the US. Now . . from Minnesota to Morocco! Last Saturday, August 11, 2018, Barn Quilts of Carver County MN was invited to meet with a Moroccan delegation through the U of M’s Extension program for Agri-Tourism. We met at one of Better Homes & Gardens top 11 quilt shops in the country – Quilt Haven on Main in Hutchinson, MN. Owners Bonny & Don Hartung were exceptional hosts!
The delegates were fascinated by the barn quilt “industry” and were delighted and inspired by our barn quilt tours and the beautiful souvenirs depicting the public art displayed on barns throughout Carver County, MN. Suzanne Thiesfeld, artist for the Barn Quilts of Carver County, MN project was credited for her artistry!
Cindy Buchholz, owner of Bittersweet Barn Quilt Company, in Hutchinson, MN, joined the group to give an overview of the barn quilt painting process.
“Brilliant” was the repeated response. A fabulous day of sharing ideas, experiences and creating new friendships.
