A barn quilt does not lose its beauty even in the middle of a snow storm. Two days ago I risked the near-blizzard winds to drive to the nearest barn quilt just to see and photograph it in the blinding snow. The sight was just as magical as I hoped! The colors appeared through the near white-out conditions proving that barn quilts are a joy in all seasons.
Barn Quilt Tours are associated with summer and fall in Minnesota. Do consider signing up for a guided tour – you will be glad you did – so much to learn about and experience in Carver County. For those who can explore the countryside on your own, do it. The farms and small communities along the way will capture your hearts and imaginations. For those who won’t be able to experience the Carver County MN Trail in person, I’ll take you on a journey.
As 2018 begins, I invite you to travel with me. I’ll share my thoughts and photos. Together we can take the journey in all seasons and in all kinds of weather. Also, besides the seasonal weather changes, we can examine how daylight changes the view. Each day and time of day offers different light expressing variations of the images. In addition to barn quilts, I’ll be sharing other sights along the trail – animals, fences, windmills, trees and fields.
Here we go!
